Pages & Posts
Before we talk about how to add content to your blog, let's talk about the two types of content you can add to WordPress.
Inside the Admin panel for WordPress you can add two different types of content. You can add a post, which will show up as content on your front page. Or you can add a page which will show up as a tab along the top.
Let’s take a look at in on a blog, the pages we have added show up along the top and are called tabs. Pages are good for content that you want to be visible all the time. Posts show up in the content of your blog posts, and as you add new posts they will appear at the top and the old ones move down the page.
When you have an article to post to your blog, adding it isn't difficult. However, by paying attention to a few key elements you'll gain search engine rankings faster. Specifically if you update the All in One SEO Plugin Section (click here if you forgot to install that particular plugin) you will gain search engine rankings in a very short period of time.
First you need to decide if you are adding a page or a post. Usually you will be adding posts to your blog, but if you made a new review page, and about page, etc, you may want to add it as a page instead. Decide what you are adding and then click the "Add New" link:
This will open the post/page editor. Copy and Paste the title of your post in the first box and paste your article body into the second
box below it.
Next, you are going to add your links. Every article on your blog should link to either the #1 product on your review page, or link to the review page itself. To add a link, select the text you want to be your link, and then click the link button.
Once you have finished adding your links, scroll down to the All In One SEO Pack section. Add a title (this should be the title of your post), a description (this is important because this is what will show up in the search engines, and then add 3 - 5 keywords (these are the keywords that you want to rank for). Be sure to include your main keyword in the keyword section as well as in the description.
Once this is complete, scroll back up and look at the publish box on the right. You have the option to choose the date you want to publish the content you are adding (usually now), and then click the "Publish" button.
